What data do we collect?

Our project collects the following data:

  • Personal identification information (Name, email address, profile picture)
  • Project information (Name, description, contact email address, location of the project)

How will we collect your data?

You directly provide posted with most of the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you:

  • Register online via the authentication provider auth0
  • Provide feedback on any of our messages via email or via our feedback typeform
  • Use or view our website via your browser's cookies

How will we use your data?

We may disclose the contact e-mail address of projects to interested volunteers, so they can contact you. We guarantee that your right to privacy is not endangered by such disclosures.

In some cases, we may ask your consent to some other type of processing. In such case, we will inform you of the respective purposes of processing when requesting the consent and such processing is conducted only subject to the receipt of appropriate consent.

How do we store your data?

We mainly retain your data for the period required to off the web service. After the service is no longer used, the data is anonymised or deleted without further delay once a basis for retention no longer exists.

The data is securely stored at the Stockholm AWS region "eu-north-1" (project and personal data) and in Frankfurt and Dublin (sign-in data).

Your contact details may be retained and used for marketing purposes, unless you object to such use.

We evaluate the necessity and accuracy of the personal data on a regular basis.

Your rights as a data subject

You have a right:

  1. to request access to and rectification or erasure of your personal data;
  2. to request that the processing of your personal data is restricted or to object to the processing of your personal data;
  3. to certain preconditions, to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and to transmit that data to another controller.

You may exercise the aforementioned rights by contacting us. Where the processing is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Please notice that this will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before the withdrawal.In case you consider that your rights under the data protection laws are infringed, you may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman).
